Honoring Jack Kirrane : On Saturday December 4, 2010, the Brookline community gathered at Larz Anderson Park to honor life long Brookline resident and Captain of the 1960 Gold Medal Olypic Hockey Team. Over 600 people attended the event and guests included Middlesex County D.A. Gerry Leone, Mike Barnicle, Captain of the 1980 Olympic Gold Medal Team Mike Eruzione, coach of the 1960 team Jack Riley and many other dignitaries including team members. The skating rink was renamed the Jack Kirrane Skating Rink.

2nd Annual Prader-Willi Walk : The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of New England held it's 2nd Annual Fund Raising Walk at Borderline State Park in Easton on Saturday June 12, 2010. The 3 mile walk raised over $25,000 for research to cure this potentially life threatening disease that effects 1 in every 10,000 births and the cause is unknown. IAFF Shriners Burn Awareness Walk : The IAFF teamed up with Shriners Burn Hospitals to raise money for pediatric burn victims yesterday at Castle Island. Participants walked approximately 3 miles and were also treated to clowns, face painting, ice cream and some great raffle prizes.
