On Saturday December 4, 2010, the Brookline community gathered at Larz Anderson Park to honor life long Brookline resident and Captain of the 1960 Gold Medal Olypic Hockey Team. Over 600 people attended the event and guests included Middlesex County D.A. Gerry Leone, Mike Barnicle, Captain of the 1980 Olympic Gold Medal Team Mike Eruzione, coach of the 1960 team Jack Riley and many other dignitaries including team members. The skating rink was renamed the Jack Kirrane Skating Rink.
