Boston Firefighters battled record temperatures in the low 90s as well as an intense alarm fire at 483 Beacon Street in the Back Bay about 2pm on Wednesday April 7, 2010. The fire was on the 7th floor of a 10 story, 69 unit apartment building that was originally a hotel when built in 1895. Narrow staircases, smoke and heat required Firefighters to shelter occupants in place above the fire floor until is was safe to remove them from the building. 5 injuries including 3 Firefighters were treated.
